Publisher computer requirements
The computer executing the Publisher synchronization must meet the following minimum requirements. Additional requirements might apply depending on the installed system links and rendering modules.
Note The Meridian Enterprise application server should not be used to run the Publisher. Publisher processing, particularly rendering that can happen at any time, requires significant system resources and can degrade performance for Meridian Enterprise users to unacceptable levels. Instead, a dedicated computer should be used so that Publisher processing will not interfere with the source or destination system processes.
- Dual-Core Intel® CPU 2.0 GHz or higher
- 4 GB RAM or more
- One of the Windows Server operating systems (with latest Service Pack) listed in the Supported Applications document for this release of the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise product suite.
- Microsoft Management Console (MMC) version 3.0
Note MMC 3.0 is available for Windows Server 2003 from Microsoft Update.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
- Windows Identity Foundation (for cloud-hosted Microsoft SharePoint destinations only as described in Configuring the Microsoft SharePoint destination options. The Publisher computer must also meet WIF system requirements. To download, see Windows Identity Foundation in the Microsoft Download Center.)
-
Meridian Enterprise client software
Note We recommend that the PowerUser client be installed to ensure that all required components
are installed. These components
are required to be installed if the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise system link is used. On 64-bit computers, install the 64-bit client software.
- DCOM access to the Meridian Enterprise application server
- DCOM access to a BlueCielo license server
- Internet Information Services 6 or higher with the following components installed and enabled
- Windows Authentication service
- ASP.NET 2.0
- Static Content
- OLE DB access to an existing SQL Server or Oracle database server that will host the Publisher database. If Oracle will be used, the Oracle client software must be installed. Install the same bit width version as the operating system.
Notes
- Additional software is required by the various rendering modules as described in Understanding the additional requirements and in the topics that describe the specific rendering modules.
- We do not recommend running Publisher with rendering modules on the source or destination document management systems servers.
